If you're like most people, you have no difficulty sensing God's presence in the big events of your life. You know that He is with you when the big things happen: births, deaths, marriages, car accidents, losing a job, getting a new job--you get the idea. But the extraordinary things are infrequent. They happen only once in a while (that's what makes them extraordinary). If we are conscious of God only when the big things happen, then we won't be thinking about Him very much.
God is constantly present and involved in your life. If you want to find Him on a daily basis, then you'll need to start looking for Him in the small stuff. The circumstances, relationships, and activities of your normal, everyday routine are where you can find God. He is there--in the commonplace situations of your life.
We have written several books that focus on the theme of God's involvement in the small stuff of life. Not surprisingly, the titles include:
- God Is in the Small Stuff...Slow Down and Invite God Into the Details of Your Life
- God Is in the Hard Stuff...Where to Turn When the Going Gets Tough
- God Is in the Small Stuff at Christmas...Slow Down and Experience God in the Details of the Season
These books contain essays about the ordinary issues of life. The responses from readers have been overwhelming. In letters and emails, people have confirmed what we know to be true: When you look for God in your life, even the ordinary things become extraordinary.
We hope you come back to this "God Is in the Small Stuff" site often and read our recent postings. And please post your comments. We want to hear your stories of how God is involved in the details of your life.
